Engineering Technician Albuquerque NM

CONSTRUCTION FIELD MATERIALS TESTING TECHNICIAN – GEOMAT is looking for an technician/inspector candidate for its materials department in Albuquerque, NM to test and document soil, concrete, and asphalt on construction sites in the State of NM.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Pass a Drug Test.
• Clean Driving Record (5 Years minimum).
• Background check completed for all considered applicants.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certifications: ACI, NICET, TTCP are a plus but not required
• College Level Courses

REPORTS TO:

• Construction Services Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test and inspect construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and hot mix asphalt on construction job sites.
• Perform laboratory testing on soils, concrete, masonry, and hot-mix asphalt. Training will be provided at the Farmington and/or Rio Rancho location.
• Prepare daily reports on observation and testing activities.
• Review reports and test data for accuracy and completeness.

CERTIFICATIONS:

GEOMAT provides comprehensive training and opportunities for certification. Applicable certifications may include:

• ACI – American Concrete Institute
• NICET – National Institution for Certification in Engineering Technologies
• ACNM TTCP

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to work in outside in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to 80 lbs periodically.
• Must be able to work in occasional dusty, noisy environments
• Must be able to work occasional 10-12 hour days, nights, and weekends. Travel may also be necessary. All overtime and travel time is paid.
• Must be able to remain upright and alert while on the job.
